Finding Articles Help Guide

This guide provides instructions and resources on finding articles using library databases.

Introduction

Databases are large collections of data organized for rapid search and retrieval by a computer. Databases that the UDC library offers, as well as other online resources, have many different kinds of research materials, including scholarly, peer-reviewed articles.

Peer reviewed articles are articles written by experts in a field, evaluated by other experts in a field to see if they meet the required scholarly standards to be published. It’s a type of “quality control” in academic writing.

This guide will recommend databases and search strategies to help you find articles to use in your research. UDC students, faculty, and staff can access article databases from off-campus with their UDC email addresses and passwords.

A to Z Resource List

The library’s A to Z Resource List is an alphabetical listing of all of the databases UDC library users have access to. Choose your subject area from the Subjects dropdown menu to find recommended databases for your topic or major.
