Computer Science/Information Technology: Home

Introduction

Computer Science (CS) is the study of computation and computer technology, hardware, and software, and of the application of computer technology to science, business, and the arts. Computer science includes many subjects, including artificial intelligence and software engineering. Information Technology (IT) includes many areas, including computer software, information systems, computer hardware, and programming languages, and is not limited to functions such as processes, and data constructs. IT provides organizations with four sets of core services to help execute the business strategy: business process automation, providing information, connecting with customers, and productivity tools.

This research guide presents recommended resources for UDC's Computer Science and Information Technology programs.

Recommended Journals

Below is a short list of journals that cover the area of computer science and information technology. If there is an article you are interested in that is not freely available through UDC library resources, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan. If you have questions on how to do this, contact a librarian.

WRLC

UDC belongs to the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC).

The nine member libraries share circulating materials with each other and have a common library catalog.

You can use the catalog to look for materials in all of the libraries' collections at one time, or you can limit your search to any one of the libraries.
