    Stress Relief

by Meghan Kowalski on 2019-12-10T09:00:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

This time of year can be stressful, chaotic, and, well, just unlikable. We know this is a rough time for many and we want to remind everyone that it’s okay to take care of yourself during this time.

Self-care is not selfish! Self-care is an essential part of stress management. When you take care of yourself, you make it easier to tackle the harder tasks on your end-of-semester to do list.

Here are some of our favorite self-care activities.

    • Take a walk or get in a round of your favorite exercise
    • Practice mindful breathing. You can learn some exercises here
    • Take a nap
    • Stretch! See some stretches you can do as you study here
    • Let yourself laugh. Put on a comedy special or read some webcomics to boost your mood.
    • Spend time with the people in your life who are your cheerleaders.
    • Cozy up with a mug of cocoa
    • Listen to some of your favorite music
    • Cuddle your pets (or your kids!)
    • Journal or write down what’s on your mind. You can learn about journaling for stress relief here
    • Read a chapter in your favorite book
    • Color!
    • Make your favorite snack or meal
    • Put on some music and dance
    • Watch a movie or an episode of your favorite TV show
    • Repeat some mantas. Here’s a list of some to try.

Sprinkle these activities (or some of your personal favorites) throughout the next few weeks to ensure that you’re putting your mental and physical health first.

    You can do it, Firebirds!
