    Join us during the Spring semester for a FREE webinar series focusing on research for funding and publication. We're trying to make the scholarly communications process easier to understand.

    • Show Me the Money!: Finding Funding

      • This session will show you how to find research funding opportunities. We will look at tools you can use to search for grants and sponsorship. The session will also share some general tips to make your request stand out.
    • What to Expect in Peer-Review
      • Friday, February 3, 2023 @ 1:00PM
      • Peer-review is an essential part of the publication process. But what is it exactly? In this session, we'll look at what happens on both sides of peer-review and what that means for your work.
    • Beware the Wolf: Identifying Predatory Journals

      • There are a ton of publications out there and not all of them are good. In this session, we will show you how to evaluate publications to determine if they are predatory. Don't let your great work end up in a bad publication.
    • Where Should I Publish?

      • You finished your paper. Now what? In this session, we'll share how to determine which publications suit your work best. You'll learn about evaluation techniques, impact factors, and alt-metrics and what that means for your writing.
    • What's in a Name?: Scholarly Research Profiles
      • Friday, March 10, 2023 @ 1:00PM
      • Have you changed your last name? Did you use a middle initial in one publication but not another? In this session, will discuss the importance of scholarly profiles, what options are other there, and the best ways to promote your profiles. This session will include a look at persistent research identifiers like ORCID.
    • Notes on a Post-It: Research Data Management
      • Friday, March 31, 2023 @ 1:00PM
      • Are your research notes scattered all over you desk? When was the last time you backed-up your hard drive? In this session, we will discuss best practices of research data management and how to protect your work.
     

    Each webinar will last for up to one hour. The sessions will be held on Zoom. Each session will provide approximately 30 minutes of content with the remaining time reserved for Q&A. Time will be given for unrecorded Q&A as well. Recordings of each session will be posted on YouTube.
