    Welcome to the Library!

A new school year, a new semester, a new look for the University Library!

To new students, a friendly Firebird greeting; to returning students, an enthusiastic welcome back! We are so glad you are here with us and can’t wait to get to know you.

We are still located in Building 71 (4250 Connecticut Avenue). Here’s where you can find us and what services we provide:

    • The third floor holds our Circulation Desk and a casual reading nook:
      • At the Circulation Desk, you can request items from our collection, pick up a book that is on hold for you, borrow a Reserve book, and return a book when you are finished.
      • By the elevators on the third floor, you will find a casual reading nook. Sit back and relax with a title from our bookshelf of FREE books. Take a book, or leave a book for others to enjoy.
    • On the sixth floor, you will find the Reference Desk, Media Services, and the learning pods:
      • Have questions about research, using library databases, or citations? You can get face-to-face help from a librarian at the Reference Desk (Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm).
      • Media Services is where you can ask tech support questions or pick up your laptop from the Laptop Loaner Program.
      • To use one of the learning pods, check-in at Media Services. They’ll get you assigned to a pod. Each pod has a desktop computer, access to Wi-Fi, and plenty of space to spread out.
      • Printing, copying, and scanning services are available to UDC students, faculty, and staff.

Our online resources are available to you 24/7 both on- and off-campus (sign in with your UDC email). The library provides access to over half a million books, 80,000 journal titles, and over 250 databases full of articles, streaming media, images, newspapers, data sets, and more! Check out our website to see everything you can use!

Stay in the know and sign up for our monthly newsletter! You can also follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

    Have a great semester Firebirds!
