    Professional Pampering

by Meghan Kowalski on 2019-08-05T13:50:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

UDC Faculty - join us for a day of professional pampering on August 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Windows Lounge!

Meet with members of academic support service departments to massage your syllabus. Then enjoy a seated massage and take-home spa goodies! (Download our event flyer here.)

Representatives from the following departments will be on hand to offer support services and information:

UDC Library - Meet with a reference librarian to discuss how the library’s resources and services can support your students and assignments. We are happy to discuss research assignments and language. You can also take this time to request a library instruction session tailored specifically for your course. Additionally, if you’re conducting research, the librarians would be happy to discuss ways to support your professional achievements.

Media Desk  - Visit with techs from the Library’s media desk. Learn which technology is available for use and request in your classroom.

25Live - Once you’ve determined what technology you need, work with a 25Live Scheduler to submit your requests for approval.

Office of Student Success - Meet with representatives to discuss services available to your students and how you can encourage students to take advantage of these resources throughout your class and in your syllabus. Academic advising is a critical support service for students, providing the best possible guidance to assist them in reaching their highest levels of human potential. You can also request in-class workshops for students on academic topics.

The Student Success Center offers an array of services designed to strengthen students’ skills and abilities in areas critical to college success.

    • Academic Advising/Coaching
    • Tutoring and Writing Services (Student Achievement Center)
    • Supplemental Instruction
    • Career Services
    • Emergency Aid Program (Emergency Grants)

    • Student Success Courses (Fall 2019-Pilot)

Counseling and Wellness Center - The Counseling and Wellness Center is available to promote psychological well-being that helps students reach their academic, personal, and relational goals. They will work with you to help address any issue that may be interfering with your students’ well-being or success.  All counseling services are provided by trained professionals and are fully confidential.

Center for the Advancement of Learning - The Center for the Advancement of Learning offers a diverse range of services, programs, and professional development activities to advance teaching and learning. Meet with members of the Center's team to help promote a learner-centered culture that values and rewards inclusive, innovative, and effective instruction and course design.

Attendees of this event will be able to apply for Professional Development Certification through LRD!

In addition to these professional services, the workshop will give you a chance to pamper yourself! Chair massages and take-home spa goodies will be available throughout the event.
