    Prep for Finals

by Meghan Kowalski on 2019-11-25T09:00:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

Finals week (and winter break!) will be here before you know it.

This can be a stressful point in the semester, but you don’t have go into it unprepared. Here we share some of our favorite tips to help get you through finals.

    • Start Early: It’s never too early to start studying for finals. The earlier you start, the more time you’ll have review your notes and reading. Put study session time on your calendar and make sure you keep those appointments with yourself.

    • Organize: Nothing makes finals more stressful than not knowing what you need to do. Write down and schedule every exam and assignment. Read all the requirements or study guides so you know exactly what you must do. Keep your important files and papers in one place so you always know where they are. Being organized will help you stay on track and productive.

    • Find Your Space: Everyone likes to study and work in a different environment. Find the ideal place for you. If you enjoy a bit of buzz, try working in the Student Center or coffee shop. If you like it quiet, visit the library (particularly in the mornings or on Fridays). Set yourself up for success by having everything you need on hand. Come prepared to work with your books, papers, computer, and other study tools.

    • Go Airplane Mode: The internet is great, but it can be a huge distraction. If you find yourself scrolling through Instagram when you should be working, put your phone on airplane mode. You can also turn off all notifications for the duration of finals. The fewer distractions you have, the easier it will be for you to focus on your work.

    • Sleep: Go to bed! Trust us. Cramming never works – sleep does.

    You can do it, Firebirds!
