    Get Ready for the Semester

by Meghan Kowalski on 2019-08-19T21:00:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

The fall semester is just around the corner! We hope everyone had a wonderful and restful summer, but now is the time to get ready to ace your upcoming classes.

    • Check Your Schedule: Make sure you're registered and have put all your classes on your calendar. Set a reminder and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to campus. Remember to add any other important events and programs to your schedule.

    • Stock Up: Don't show up to classes unprepared. Now is the perfect time to stock up on notebooks, pens, power stations, USB drives, highlighters, and other supplies you need to be ready to learn.

    • Buy Your Books: If the book list for your class is available, stop by the bookstore or buy your texts online. It can take time for books to be delivered. Don't risk not having your text until the middle of the semester!

    • Create Your Space: There is no better way to set yourself for success than by creating an environment for achievement. Find an area you can make your own and set it up for productivity. Clean up messes, organize what you need for the semester, and add in a few personal mementos that keep you motivated.

    • Have a Plan: College is more than attending classes. You must build study time in to your schedule. If you’re an athlete, you need to consider practices and games. If you’re a member of a group, you’ll need to plan for meetings and other activities. Now is the time to create a plan for how you’ll handle everything. Set goals for what you want to accomplish. To keep you on track, create a journal to track your work and always remember to celebrate your successes.

And, of course, visit the library! We're here to help you track down books and the other resources you need to get your work done.
