Can I Still Use the Library?

by Meghan Kowalski on 2020-03-13T11:14:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

So, the COVID-19 coronavirus has moved classes online. What does that mean for all of your research papers and other assignments?

The library at Van Ness will remain OPEN while classes are online. Our space, computers, and print resources will be available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You are welcome to come! You can still print, scan, and do whatever it is you like to do while using the library.

If you can't make it to the library or don't want to travel (we get that), you can still access all of the library's online resources from the comfort of home (or any place with an internet connection). Just visit the library's website and research to your heart's content! If you access one of the library's databases while off-campus, you will be asked to sign in using your UDC credentials.

The library will also be able to provide scans of material (such as our textbooks on reserve) at your request. Just call or email us with the following information: title, author, and pages needed. It can also help us if you are able to share the edition or publication information. We will attempt to email scans to you within one-business-day but turnaround time will depend on the demand.

As always, we are available to you in person and online. You can schedule an appointment with us here. Virtual appointments via Zoom are available. Our online chat service will also be staffed from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can email us any questions you have at ask@udc.libanswers.com.

Finally, CAL has put together a document with information on how to use various online learning resources. You can read it here.
